Why I'm Running
I never planned to run for public office.
Like many residents, I was busy building a career, raising my daughter, and enjoying everything that makes Saanich such a great place to call home.
Then a time came when I witnessed decisions being made that changed the landscape of our neighbourhoods, increased congestion, property taxes, and changes that affected the daily lives of residents across Saanich. The more I listened to my neighbours and people throughout our community, the more I heard the same concerns - they felt they were no longer being heard.
So I attended Council meetings to give our community a voice.
I spoke before Council. I met and spoke with with each Councilor and Mayor.
I listened to my neighbours and residents from across our community.
The more involved I became, the more convinced I was that something needed to change.
I couldn't sit at home and hope for change
If I want things to improve, I have to step forward and be part of the solution.
Born and raised in Saanich, I've spent most of my life here and have lived in my current home for the past 23 years. This is where I've built my life, raised my family, coached and played sports, and where I developed a deep appreciation for everything that makes our municipality unique.
Saanich has always been more than just where I live. It's where I've enjoyed our parks, beaches, trails, recreation centers, local businesses, our farms, and our vibrant neighbourhoods. These places aren't just amenities—they're part of our identity, and they're worth protecting.
Transportation is not an us vs them problem. As an avid cyclist, I believe safe transportation and efficiency matters. But I also believe we can build infrastructure that works for everyone—cyclists, pedestrians, transit users, businesses, emergency services, and drivers. We shouldn't have to choose one group over another. With thoughtful planning and common sense, we can improve safety while keeping people and traffic moving.
For more than 25 years, I've built a career solving problems, managing complex projects, negotiating solutions, building relationships, asking tough questions, and delivering results. Those are exactly the skills I will bring to Council.
Our community faces important challenges. Traffic congestion continues to worsen. Infrastructure needs investment. Housing must be planned responsibly. Public safety remains a priority. Residents also expect responsible financial management, greater transparency, and a Council that listens before it acts.
Residents aren't looking for politics. They're looking for practical solutions that make everyday life better.
That's the approach I will bring to Council.
I believe in protecting what makes Saanich special while planning responsibly for the future. I will listen to residents, ask the difficult questions, and make decisions based on evidence, common sense, and the long-term interests of our community—not political ideology or special interests.
Saanich has given me so much throughout my life. Serving on Council is my opportunity to give something back and help ensure future generations enjoy the same safe, livable, welcoming community that I have been proud to call home.
